Assistant Coach Göle: “Our Target is the Top 8 in the Group”
Fenerbahçe Assistant Coach Zeki Murat Göle stated that they would face a challenging match against AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League.
Regarding the game, Zeki Murat Göle said, “Our goal in the group is the top 8. We’re fighting for this. We’ve earned valuable points. After the AZ match, we have another away game. We are Fenerbahçe. We came here to win. We will fight until the end.”
In the UEFA Europa League, Fenerbahçe will face the Dutch team AZ Alkmaar away tomorrow in the 4th-week matchup.
Before the match, Fenerbahçe’s assistant coach Zeki Murat Göle answered questions at the press conference. He mentioned that Jose Mourinho did not attend due to his suspension.
Regarding tomorrow’s AZ Alkmaar game, Göle said, “We came here with high spirits. We achieved an important win against Trabzonspor under tough conditions. The unity within our community is strong. We have a tough schedule, and another challenging match awaits us. We came with some absentees. Jayden and Cengiz were already injured, and Djiku and İrfan Can are now added to that list. They are very important players for us. The players who weren’t registered on the UEFA list are training in Istanbul.”

On the game, Zeki Murat Göle added, “Our coach values the academy greatly. Players from the academy are joining our training and taking part in the squad. Hopefully, they will also get playing time. Four of our academy players will be in the squad tomorrow. Our goal in the group is the top 8. We are fighting for it. We’ve earned valuable points. After the AZ match, we have another away game. We are Fenerbahçe. We came here to win. We will fight until the end.”
“A TOUGH MATCH”
When asked about the form of AZ Alkmaar and Fenerbahçe, Göle replied, “AZ’s form won’t affect us because we will play our game. AZ started the league very well but had a sharp decline afterward. But there will be a way out of that. They are also searching for a turning point and will continue to fight. Therefore, it’s going to be a tough match.”
Göle also mentioned that Jose Mourinho had a discussion with Amrabat before the Manchester United match, and he has been consulting with the players before this match as well.
Regarding the left-back issue in the team, Göle expressed confidence that Mourinho would find a solution, adding, “We have a coach who can come up with various options even in times of scarcity. The absence or injury of certain players can have an impact, but our coach always finds a solution.”
