Samet Akaydin Starts for the First Time in Europa League
Fenerbahçe’s national player Samet Akaydin, who helped the team defeat Slavia Prague 2-1 in the 5th week of the UEFA Europa League, started in the starting 11 for the first time in European matches this season.
Although he was part of the squad in Fenerbahçe‘s UEFA Europa League matches against Union Saint-Gilloise, Twente, Manchester United, and AZ Alkmaar, Samet Akaydin had not played until the Prague away match.
Due to Rodrigo Becao‘s suspension and Çağlar Söyüncü‘s injury, Samet Akaydin formed a defensive partnership with Djiku in the Prague match. Akaydin had also played alongside the Ghanaian center-back in Fenerbahçe’s match against Bellona Kayserispor.
