Çağlar Söyüncü: “We Will Give Everything to Win Against Athletic Club!”
Fenerbahçe defender Çağlar Söyüncü said, “We had a tough weekend. Wins and losses in such matches are not easily forgotten. But we need to move on. We have a very important match tomorrow. We will give everything we have to win.” Söyüncü also noted that they are helping young players like Yusuf Akçiçek.
Fenerbahçe will host Athletic Bilbao tomorrow at 6:30 PM in their sixth UEFA Europa League match. During the pre-match press conference, Çağlar Söyüncü shared his thoughts. Emphasizing the importance of the match, Söyüncü stated, “We had a tough weekend. Wins and losses in such matches are not easily forgotten. But we need to move on. Tomorrow, we have a very important match. We will give everything we have to win. If it requires a fight, we will fight; if it requires struggle, we will struggle. We’re playing against a good team, a team with a solid system.”
“YUSUF IS A BROTHER WITH GREAT POTENTIAL”
The 28-year-old player also highlighted their support for young players like Yusuf Akçiçek, saying, “Yusuf is truly a brother with great potential. If this weren’t the case, our coach wouldn’t focus so much on him. We try to assist our younger teammates. As long as they get opportunities, we can say the ball is in their court. I believe they will make the most of the chances they get. I hope he serves Fenerbahçe and the national team for many years to come.”
“EVERYONE GIVES 100% ON THE FIELD”
Commenting on the competitive atmosphere within the team, Söyüncü said, “We have very talented teammates. There is a very positive competitive environment. We support each other, and we are seeing good results because of it. In a packed match schedule, changes are sometimes necessary. What matters most here is the club. Everyone who steps onto the field gives 100%.”
Concluding his remarks, Söyüncü mentioned that he is ready to play, saying, “I have been working with physiotherapists for about three and a half weeks. For the past five or six training sessions, I have been training with the team. I am ready to play.”
