Samet Akaydin Reportedly Requests to Leave Fenerbahçe
A shocking claim has emerged regarding Fenerbahçe’s controversial figure, Samet Akaydin.
Following his error in the Athletic Bilbao match, which drew heavy criticism, Akaydin has reportedly decided to leave the club and informed Fenerbahçe management of his decision. The experienced defender is said to be aiming to continue his career abroad.
In the Europa League match against Athletic Bilbao, Akaydin’s mistake caught attention, and he faced protests during the game. Jose Mourinho substituted him at halftime and later announced he would not play in the Başakşehir match.
According to Hürriyet, the 30-year-old defender has instructed his agent to find him a new club. After being substituted at halftime, Akaydin reportedly left the stadium with Mourinho’s permission.
Fenerbahçe signed the Turkish international during the 2022-23 winter transfer window from Adana Demirspor for €3.7 million.
