Fenerbahçe’s Most Aggressive Players: Djiku and Fred Lead in Yellow Cards
At Fenerbahçe, Alexander Djiku has received four yellow cards in 12 matches in the Süper Lig so far, while Fred has been cautioned four times, including one incident while on the bench.
Fenerbahçe, which concluded the first 17 weeks of the Trendyol Süper Lig in second place with 36 points, saw Alexander Djiku and Fred emerge as its most aggressive players.
Fred participated in 13 of Fenerbahçe’s 16 league games. His first yellow card came during Week 2 against Göztepe while he was on the bench. He was subsequently booked in his debut match in Week 3 against Çaykur Rizespor. The Brazilian midfielder received another yellow card during the Galatasaray derby at home and accumulated his fourth caution in Week 9 against Reeder Samsunspor, resulting in a suspension.
As a result of his suspension, Fred missed the match against Sipay Bodrum FK.
Suspensions in European Competition
Fred, the first Fenerbahçe player to be suspended this season, also missed a UEFA Europa League match due to accumulating three yellow cards.
The Brazilian midfielder was booked in all three of Fenerbahçe’s European away matches—against Twente, AZ Alkmaar, and Slavia Prague—and missed the home game against Athletic Bilbao due to suspension.
Djiku’s Four Yellow Cards
Defender Alexander Djiku also faced suspension after receiving four yellow cards.
Djiku was first booked during Week 7 against Onvo Antalyaspor. He subsequently received yellow cards in matches against Reeder Samsunspor (Week 9), Bellona Kayserispor (Week 13), and Beşiktaş (Week 15), which led to a suspension for the Week 16 home game against RAMS Başakşehir.
More Cards in Second Halves
Fenerbahçe players were shown a total of 36 yellow cards during the first 17 weeks of the season. Only 10 of these were issued in the first halves of matches, while 26 came in the second halves. Despite this, the team did not receive any red cards during this period.
