Fenerbahçe Pushes for Cristian Medina Deal as Player Eyes 2025 Move
It has been reported that Fenerbahçe will resume negotiations with Boca Juniors for Cristian Medina, who has been a long-standing target for the club.

Medina, a midfielder for Boca Juniors, has been on Fenerbahçe‘s radar since last summer, and the club hopes to finalize his transfer in January. However, a new suitor for the player has emerged, with Spanish Segunda División side Almería expressing interest.
According to Argentina’s Planet Boca Juniors, Boca is searching for a replacement for Medina and is reportedly interested in Almería’s Argentine midfielder Lucas Robertone. Almería proposed a swap deal involving Medina and Robertone, but the 22-year-old Medina was not in favor of the exchange.
The report also highlighted that Medina’s transfer to Fenerbahçe remains unresolved. Boca Juniors’ president, Juan Román Riquelme, had accepted Fenerbahçe’s $10 million offer plus bonuses, but an agreement could not be reached on payment terms.
It is claimed that Medina’s ultimate wish is to play for Fenerbahçe starting in 2025. Considering the player’s preference and offers, Fenerbahçe is expected to re-enter negotiations to finalize the deal.
The report suggests Fenerbahçe will soon submit another strong offer for Medina, similar to the previous proposal but with improved payment terms. This adjustment could pave the way for a positive outcome in talks between the two clubs.
Since expressing his desire to leave Boca, Medina has not been included in the matchday squad by coach Fernando Gago, with his last appearance coming on October 20 against Tigre. The midfielder has played 30 games this season, scoring 3 goals and providing 3 assists.
