Ogün Altıparmak, Fenerbahçe’s Historic Top Scorer, Dies at 85

Former Fenerbahçe and Turkish national team player Ogün Altıparmak has passed away at the age of 85.

Starting his football career at Karşıyaka, Altıparmak transferred to at the age of 24. During his time with the Yellow-Navy Blues, he won one Turkish League title and one . In the 1970-71 season, he became the league’s , making history as the first Fenerbahçe player to achieve this feat.

After retiring from professional football in 1971, Altıparmak ventured into politics and also served as an executive at Fenerbahçe.

His funeral will take place tomorrow at 14:30 at the Dereağzı Küçükandonyadis Facilities, followed by a service at Erenköy Galip Paşa Mosque in the afternoon. He will be laid to rest at Karacaahmet Cemetery.

Fenerbahçe issued the following statement regarding Altıparmak’s passing:

“We have lost our former executive, player, and High Council member (No. 1372), , who left a lasting mark on with his contributions to Fenerbahçe’s success.

Wearing our jersey between 1963-68 and 1969-71, Altıparmak won 4 Turkish League titles, 1 Turkish Cup, 1 Presidential Cup, 1 TSYD Cup, 1 Atatürk Cup, 1 Spor Toto Cup, and 1 Balkan Cup, while also claiming the league’s top scorer title.
