Osayi Samuel Transfer Race Heats Up: Fenerbahçe Faces Tough Decisions

Fenerbahçe's star player Osayi Samuel has attracted interest from major clubs. With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, Fenerbahçe is keen not to lose him.

Fenerbahçe management has yet to reach an agreement with Osayi-Samuel, whose contract expires at the season’s end, and they are determined not to let him slip away.

Since joining the yellow-navy blues in the 2020-21 season, the Nigerian right-back has maintained consistent form, and suitors are now lining up. Championship side Norwich City and French club Lens are reportedly planning to lure the 26-year-old during the January transfer window, hoping to sign him on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Both clubs will make their offers to Osayi, who is hesitant about renewing his contract, and closely monitor his situation.

FENERBAHÇE OFFERS €2 MILLION, PLAYER WANTS €2.5 MILLION

Head coach Jose Mourinho is reportedly very pleased with Osayi-Samuel. Seen as ahead of Mert Müldür in the pecking order, the 26-year-old currently earns €1.8 million annually and has informed the management that he wants to increase his salary by approximately 40%, to €2.5 million, in exchange for signing a new contract.

Fenerbahçe considers this demand too high and has postponed negotiations. The yellow-navy blues are not willing to offer more than €2 million. In addition to the raise, Osayi is also seeking a 4-year contract.
