Fenerbahçe’s Reaction to the Pendikspor-Galatasaray Match!

In a statement from Fenerbahçe, it was expressed that despite the consensus that there were egregious referee errors in the Pendikspor-Galatasaray match played last night, VAR referee Mustafa Öğretmenoğlu officiated as AVAR referee in today’s match between Trabzonspor and Mondihome Kayserispor. Despite all these events, the assignment of Mustafa Öğretmenoğlu to the match the next day is naturally questioned by the public.

In Burak Kızılhan’s statement on the official Fenerbahçe website: “Despite the consensus that there were egregious referee errors in the Siltaş Yapı Pendikspor-Galatasaray match played last night, VAR referee Mustafa Öğretmenoğlu officiated as AVAR referee in today’s match between Trabzonspor and Mondihome Kayserispor. Despite all these events, the assignment of Mustafa Öğretmenoğlu to the match the next day is naturally questioned by the public. All these events within a week have become the latest example of the problem that our club has been trying to explain for years and that has been widely discussed in the football community in recent weeks, namely the ‘message to referees through appointment method’ issue.”
