Selahattin Baki: Our Goal is the Conference League Final!

Regarding the match-up with Union Saint-Gilloise in the Conference League, Baki said, “We want to make our fans happy in all three competitions. We feel at home in places like Belgium, France, and the Netherlands. With the efforts of our coach, we want to progress to the next round.”

The draw for the Round of 16 in the UEFA Europa Conference League took place in Switzerland.

Fenerbahçe was matched against the Belgian team Union Saint-Gilloise.

Following the draw, Fenerbahçe Executive Selahattin Baki evaluated the match-up for A Spor.

Regarding the match-up, Selahattin Baki said, “As is our genetic luck, we drew one of the best-playing and in-form teams. They are leaders in their own leagues. They are ahead of a school like Anderlecht. They managed to defeat Liverpool. Their average age is 25. We are facing a dynamic and athletic team. But none of these intimidate us. At the moment, we are the only team representing Turkey. We want to reach a point that will make our fans happy in all three competitions. We play as if at home in places like Belgium, France, and the Netherlands. Along with the work of our coach, we want to advance to the next round.”

Selahattin Baki also added, “There is a potential final that everyone who feels Turkish at heart would greatly desire. I don’t want to jinx the team, but everyone’s dream is to see Fenerbahçe in the final of this cup. Lifting the trophy there is everyone’s desire. We are eagerly awaiting it.”

WHEN IS THE FENERBAHÇE-UNION SAINT-GILLOISE MATCH?

In the UEFA Europa Conference League, Fenerbahçe will play the first leg against Union Saint-Gilloise away on March 7th, with the return match scheduled for March 14th in Istanbul.

If Fenerbahçe advances in this round, their opponent will be determined on March 15th.
