Ismail Yüksek Clarifies Transfer Rumors: No Plans for Move, Focused on Fenerbahçe Success
Fenerbahçe hosted Union Saint-Gilloise in Istanbul in the UEFA Conference League Round of 16. Despite losing 1-0 at home, Fenerbahçe, who won the first leg 3-0, advanced to the quarter-finals. Fenerbahçe's İsmail Yüksek made statements.
İsmail Yüksek said, “We set a strategy to advance to the next round. We deserved to advance in the first leg. I am happy that we advanced to the next round. There was some complacency from the first leg. We are professional footballers, we might have been more focused on Sunday’s match. We want to win both in Europe and in Turkey. We need to continue one match at a time.”
TRANSFER STATEMENT
Regarding the transfer rumors surrounding himself, İsmail Yüksek said, “I might have upset the Fenerbahçe fans. Right now, I have no thoughts of a transfer. I want to clarify what happened there. They invited me for an interview, and I am already playing for the team I dreamt of. They asked me, ‘If an offer comes from the Premier League, which team would you like to play for?’ and I said Manchester United if conditions are right. I want to focus on what lies ahead. We want to become champions.”
