Jose Mourinho Talks Motivation and Transfer Strategy at Fenerbahçe
Fenerbahçe Head Coach Jose Mourinho answered questions from the press before training. The Portuguese coach provided information on pre-season preparations and the transfer agenda.
Jose Mourinho spoke to the press before Fenerbahçe‘s morning training session. Mourinho assessed the players returning from national teams and commented on the transfer agenda.
Here are Mourinho’s statements:
MOURINHO: “I FEEL MORE MOTIVATED THAN EVER”
I feel very happy and motivated. I feel more motivated than ever. We could only start our preparations with half the team, which isn’t easy. In two weeks, the Champions League qualifiers will begin. We are continuing our work with the players we have in the best way possible.
“THE CLUB’S CONDITIONS ARE VERY GOOD”
Every club I worked at in my career was a challenge for me. I know my responsibilities. I was very well received here. The club’s conditions are very good. Our sporting director is excellent. Our goal is to bring the happiness that 35 million Fenerbahçe fans long for.
TRANSFER STATEMENT
Our president gave a direct message regarding his approach. He wants the club to develop. Developing the club means not selling our best players. He gave a clear message on this matter.
“WE ARE IN THIS SITUATION BECAUSE THE TURKISH NATIONAL TEAM DID A GREAT JOB”
My top priority right now is for the players to return to their teams. Today, Livakovic and Szymanski will have their first training sessions. Çağlar Söyüncü will have his first training with the ball. Our players in the Turkish National Team started their vacations today. Tadic returns on Wednesday. The biggest challenge we are currently experiencing is this, but it’s for a good reason. We are in this situation because the Turkish National Team did a great job. It’s a bit disappointing for me, but there’s nothing we can do about it.
“WE KNOW WHAT WE WANT IN THE TRANSFER MARKET”
We know what we want in the transfer market. Playing in the Champions League matches does not help us. Many teams won’t be playing in the Champions League qualifiers on the 23rd; this is a problem for us. We won’t be at our best for the first match against Lugano, but one thing I know is that our fans will help us win the second match we play at home.
