Youssef En-Nesyri Officially a Fenerbahçe Player with 5-Year Deal
Fenerbahçe held a signing ceremony for their new transfer, Youssef En-Nesyri. Fenerbahçe Vice President Acun Ilıcalı and Sporting Director Mario Branco also attended the ceremony.
Fenerbahçe organized a signing ceremony for the Moroccan forward Youssef En-Nesyri, who joined the team for five years. En-Nesyri said, “I am truly happy to be here. It’s a great team, and I have been following it for a long time. I thank Mario and our president. I also thank our coach for trusting me.”
Fenerbahçe Vice President Acun Ilıcalı’s statements are as follows:
“It’s an important day for our club and Turkish football. This is the highest transfer in Turkish football history. We are very happy to see him here; he is a very valuable player.
There were reports in our press that En-Nesyri was in contact with other teams and that he was confused. We read these reports with a smile. Youssef showed his warmth towards us in the first meeting 4 weeks ago. We quickly reached an agreement. He received an offer of 40 million euros. Last year, Milan offered 30 million euros. We had long negotiations with Sevilla.
Our president prioritizes the club’s interests. We acquired Youssef for less than 20 million euros. We are very happy. We were fixated on Youssef for a long time. He was Jose Mourinho‘s number one, and we insisted on bringing him here and fought for it.
Fenerbahçe has the highest-budget squad in Turkish football history. Our squad value has reached 250 million euros, and we are happy about this.
“You use the installment method a lot in transfers, how do other clubs react to this?”
“As a new executive, I can say that the leading role is our president. He stands very firm on these matters, saying ‘If it’s like this, we will get this player.’ The main reason why the player next to me is here today is Fenerbahçe’s financial power and being on the right track. Spending millions to make people talk about us is easy, but frankly, this is harder for us.”
Fenerbahçe Sporting Director Mario Branco’s words are as follows:
“The important thing is not me, but the happiness of Fenerbahçe fans. I believe that with players like Youssef, we get closer to achieving results. Just like we were here last week. I am very happy to bring a forward of this quality here because we are currently playing in the Champions League qualifiers, and the transfer window will close in about 1.5 months. We have completed 95% of our transfers. This was important for us. I thank our president and our management for the Youssef transfer. He was also one of our coach’s main options. It was our common goal. That’s why I thank him for being here.”
Youssef En-Nesyri expressed the following:
“Good day everyone. I am truly happy to be here. It’s a great team, and I have been following it for a long time. I thank Mario and our president. I also thank our coach for trusting me. I also thank my manager and my family. They helped me a lot in coming here.
I hope everything goes well. I will do my best on the field. I hope we can make our fans happy.
There were many teams interested in me. I am very happy and comfortable with the decision I made. The process took a bit long because the clubs were negotiating. I will give my all and work hard to achieve what I want.
I played against Fenerbahçe two years ago. I have been following Fenerbahçe for two years. The support of the fans caught my attention. I liked the atmosphere. I want to make them happy.
Honestly, I don’t look at opposing forwards. I know very well what I can do. I came here to win trophies. My goal is to win trophies with my team rather than individual goals.
This will be my first year outside of Spain, but players must adapt wherever they go; that’s football. You have to do your job. I will do my best. Before coming to Fenerbahçe, I talked to some players. They talked about the greatness of Fenerbahçe and how it always wants to win.
If I wasn’t happy to be at Fenerbahçe, I wouldn’t have come. I will do my best on the field every day.
There will be competition among the players, but this happens in big teams. The final decision is up to our coach. I have never had problems with my teammates in the attacking area. Whether it’s me or someone else, the important thing is for the team to win.”
