Mourinho on Draw: We Had to Battle Both the Opponent and the Atmosphere
Fenerbahçe drew 2-2 with Göztepe in their Süper Lig match. Head coach Jose Mourinho made comments about the points dropped.
In the 2nd week of the Trendyol Super League, Göztepe and Fenerbahçe ended their match in a 2-2 draw. The goals for the yellow-blues were scored by Edin Dzeko (penalty) and En-Nesyri.
After the match, Fenerbahçe Coach Jose Mourinho spoke to beIN SPORTS.
“The game was difficult. It was also under our control with a 2-0 lead. We had a chance to finish the game in the second half. However, the mood of the game changed, and the intensity changed. We conceded a goal from a situation we actually knew they would create. We conceded from a corner. After that, the match became balanced. We had to fight not only against the opponent but also against the atmosphere. We didn’t find the third goal. We had a chance with Cenk Tosun. Then the match ended 2-2. I had some footage on the tablet that I needed to show my players during halftime. That’s why I went into the dressing room early.”
