Mourinho Analyzes Twente Draw: “We Controlled the Game in the Second Half”
Fenerbahçe coach Jose Mourinho made statements following the 1-1 draw against Twente in the UEFA Europa League. Mourinho said, "Our disappointment was that when the match was 0-0, we missed two clear chances. This happens in every match."
Speaking after Fenerbahçe‘s 1-1 away draw against Twente in the UEFA Europa League, Mourinho stated that securing one point was a positive outcome.

Expressing frustration over missed opportunities, Mourinho said, “It’s a good point for us. Earning points away in European competitions is positive. Our disappointment was missing two clear chances when the game was 0-0. This happens in every match. In the second half, we controlled the game. After the equalizing goal, momentum shifted in our favor, and we could have won. I wanted to bring fresh players into midfield. Right now, we have four points, and our goal is to stay ahead of teams that won’t advance.”
COMMENTS ON SOFYAN AMRABAT
Responding to a question about Sofyan Amrabat, the Portuguese coach said, “He’s playing well. He came to us in good shape. He just needed to understand what we expect from him. Our disappointment was not being able to capitalize on the chances we created.”

Highlighting the importance of their upcoming three home matches, Mourinho added, “Sometimes I feel like I came to Turkey to learn my job because the questions I’m asked make me feel that way. It’s a tough eight-game draw because you normally expect to earn more points at home, but we will play Manchester United, Athletic Bilbao, and Lyon at home. Given the difficulty of these opponents, we need to compensate by taking points in our away games.”
