Acun Ilıcalı Criticizes Refereeing After Fenerbahçe’s Dramatic 3-2 Victory

Fenerbahçe Vice President Acun Ilıcalı made statements after the match.

“We thank the Trabzon police. They took very good precautions. However, there was no situation that required such measures. We want the tension to decrease. Let’s compete fiercely on the field, but it shouldn’t go beyond that. I would call this a new referee scandal. I said I had lost faith.

What happened was truly a disgrace. There are scandalous decisions against us and in our favor. A young referee tried to manage the match, but they didn’t allow it. Unfortunately, football was slaughtered by the referee today. All the scandals from VAR came to light. Hands were not seen. A situation that should have been a goal for Trabzonspor was not given.

Let’s not deny Trabzonspor’s rights either. Just because Trabzonspor’s rights were violated, we should not face an execution decision. Let there be no operation to determine how we can make up for the second half. This is the current state of Turkish football. We don’t want to talk more about it. Maybe our supporters couldn’t be here today, but they sent their hearts and souls. We always feel their support.

Arda Kardeşler slaughtered football when we were away at Galatasaray, and then he did the same in the Beşiktaş match. Atilla Karaoğlan slaughtered it in Samsun. He came here and slaughtered it again.
