Sofyan Amrabat Expresses Anger and Determination Following Victory
In the match of the week in the Trendyol Süper Lig, Fenerbahçe defeated Trabzonspor 3-2 with a goal from Amrabat in the 90+12th minute. After the match, Amrabat stated, "To be honest, I am not a player driven by a sense of revenge. This is the first time in my career that I have gotten this angry during a match. I believe in fair play in football, and I want to criticize the referees as well."
Fenerbahçe players Sofyan Amrabat and Fred made statements after the match.
Fred commented, “Of course, scoring is always very important. We conceded two goals, but we managed to turn the score around afterward. I congratulate my teammates. We will continue our preparations. We fought hard and earned the three points.”
SOFYAN AMRABAT: “I’VE NEVER BEEN THIS ANGRY”
Sofyan Amrabat added, “To be honest, I am not a player driven by a sense of revenge. This is the first time in my career that I have gotten this angry during a match. I believe in fair play in football, and I want to criticize the referees. They are human and do a very difficult job. Before I came here, people told me there was a mentality against Fenerbahçe. I didn’t want to believe it, but now I understand. I hit the ball into the stands after scoring. I definitely had no intention against the stands. I am a person with faith in God. Normally, I don’t score many goals, but the goal I scored today was not a coincidence.”
Amrabat continued, “I agree with Coach Jose’s statements. I don’t know how many points we have lost due to VAR. Was it a penalty or not? I can’t say for sure. But VAR reviews a situation for 4-5 minutes. If it’s a penalty, it should be given; if not, it shouldn’t. There are times when we cannot reflect our football the way we want due to the things we have experienced.”
