TFF President Confirms Foreign Referee for Galatasaray – Fenerbahçe Derby!

President of the Turkish Football Federation (TFF), İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu, has announced that the Galatasaray – Fenerbahçe derby, set to take place on Monday, February 24, in the Süper Lig, will be officiated by a world-renowned foreign referee.

İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu: “Last night, we had an extensive discussion with our referees. From the beginning, we have trusted our own officials, but to put an end to debates, the referee for this match will be a foreigner.”

İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu: “We have many capable referees to officiate this match. However, we made this decision after clubs indicated their concerns. The board has given me the authority, and to avoid further discussions and prevent our referees from being subjected to controversy, the referee for this match will be a globally recognized foreign official. The necessary correspondence was completed on Tuesday, and confirmations were received. I can confirm that the referee will be internationally renowned. The Central Referee Committee (MHK) handles the appointments, and you will learn the referee’s name over the weekend.”
