Fenerbahçe’s Ghanaian center-back Alexander Djiku made statements following the match.

“WE DIDN’T GIVE THE OPPONENT MANY CHANCES”

Starting his remarks by addressing the situation in Bolu, Djiku said:
“I want to begin by speaking about the situation in Bolu. I offer my prayers for those who lost their lives, wish a speedy recovery to the injured, and patience for their families.”

He continued:
“We played against a strong offensive team. We needed to defend well. We played with three center-backs at the back, and I think we did a good job. We didn’t give the opponent many chances. We also created some opportunities ourselves. Our goal will be to advance from the group in the next match.”

“HAPPY ABOUT THE TRANSFERS”

Speaking about the arrivals of Diego Carlos and Milan Škriniar, Djiku said:
“Honestly, I can say that I’m happy about these transfers. We had some gaps in defense. Becao and Oosterwolde are injured, so I’m pleased with the arrival of these two players. They are experienced players who will add quality to our team.”

“YUSUF DIDN’T SURPRISE ME”

The 30-year-old also spoke about his young teammate Yusuf Akçiçek:
“Yusuf had a very good game today. I congratulate him. He gives 100% effort in training as well. His performance today didn’t surprise me.”
