Fethi Pekin emphasized the significance of today’s decision, stating that it is highly important and pleasing for Fenerbahçe supporters. He spoke as follows:

“First of all, let me remind all our viewers and our community: As you know, we filed this lawsuit towards the end of August 2021. Approximately 2.5 years have passed. Unfortunately, the opposing party’s maneuvers to delay the case and, unfortunately, the change of judge twice—once due to retirement and once due to transfer—resulted in us appearing in today’s hearing with the third judge. Despite our new judge recently taking over the case, we are pleased to announce that we left the hearing with a favorable decision for all of us today. As I mentioned before, the opposing party initially had an objection on procedural grounds, which was: ‘This matter has been decided by Arbitration. This decision cannot be appealed to the judiciary. Therefore, you cannot litigate this matter in Private Law Courts.’ The previous judge had rejected this objection. However, they had again objected to this issue through a recusal from the interim decision. Today, our new judge made a decision on this matter and rejected their requests. Therefore, there is no longer any procedural dispute. Secondly, and more importantly, he decided to appoint a panel of three experts and have the file examined by the experts. We will learn later what areas of examination he will request. But it is already known in which matter; he will likely request it for the calculation of our damages. Although there has been a delay of 2.5 years, the decision taken today regarding this lawsuit is extremely important and pleasing for Fenerbahçe supporters. I wish it to be auspicious. The date for the next hearing is set for April 16, 2024. We will be present there as well. I am currently in Ankara. I wish it to be auspicious. I believe that a decision will likely be reached in the first-instance court towards the end of 2024.”
