In the statement made by Fenerbahçe regarding the matter, it was expressed with deep sorrow, "We have learned with great sadness the news of the passing of Tahsin Kaya, who served as the president of Fenerbahçe between 1986-1989, held the membership number 3117 in the High Council, and made significant contributions to our club."

It was reported that Kaya, who made significant contributions to the Turkish economy as a businessman, achieved important successes during his three-year presidency. The statement highlighted Fenerbahçe Football Team’s achievement of becoming the Super Lig champion in the 1988-1989 season by scoring 103 goals and winning the Prime Minister’s Cup.
