Specially Designed for Fenerbahçe: The Team’s New Bus Ready to Roll
The new team bus, specially designed for Fenerbahçe's football team, has been delivered to the yellow-and-navy-blue club.
The delivery ceremony at Fenerbahçe’s Can Bartu Facilities was attended by Fenerbahçe Board Members Acun Ilıcalı, Burak Çağlan Kızılhan, and Hulusi Belgü, Gürsel Turizm Chairman of the Board Levent Birand, Gürsel Turizm Vice Chairman Hürer Gündüz, Kadıköy District Governor Muhittin Pamuk, head coach Jose Mourinho, team captains Edin Dzeko and Mert Hakan Yandaş, and other guests.
At the ceremony, General Secretary Burak Çağlan Kızılhan said, “With our new bus beside me, we’ll head to away games, and God willing, return to Istanbul with 3 points and trophies. I wish our new bus will be auspicious for our team.”
Gürsel Turizm Chairman of the Board Levent Birand, noting that Fenerbahçe is one of Turkish sports’ most valuable representatives, stated, “Fenerbahçe represents our country in the best way across all sports. We are truly happy to stand by them. Our aim is to support Fenerbahçe’s success, driven by the unifying power of sports.”
“The Most Expensive and Luxurious of Its Kind”
Hürer Gündüz shared details about the bus, emphasizing that it was made specially for the club’s 50th anniversary.
Gündüz highlighted that Gürsel Turizm has been Fenerbahçe’s transportation sponsor for 50 years, saying, “We’ve served the club since the legendary coach Didi’s era. We had this bus custom-made at the Hoşdere factory. It has all the features you’d find in Mercedes’ highest segment, and more. It’s the most expensive and luxurious bus of its kind. We hope it brings success to the team.”
Gündüz also shared details of his conversation with head coach Jose Mourinho on the bus:
“Mourinho was very impressed with the bus. We told him, ‘Feel free to use it anytime, even just for a quick trip to the store. It’s a special bus, for a special name.’ The factory workers even wrote prayers and special wishes on the bus chassis. It’s a bus made with love, and Mourinho was very pleased. We hope to let the board members drive it on a Formula 1 track. It’s the best bus of its kind. With this bus, you have airplane-level comfort. The suspension, silence, and comfort are all top-notch. While the trip won’t be as quick as a flight, you’ll travel more comfortably than in a plane.”
