Expressing his reaction to the referee‘s performance and Galatasaray, Hulusi Belgü’s post was as follows:
“All of Turkey was ashamed last night, but you were not! Your mindset of ‘everything is permissible to win’ has destroyed football and morality in Turkey. You have tarnished the name of your school, which is supposed to be a place of education and enlightenment, by associating it with black market dealings, illegal gambling, and sectarian groups. You have embraced all kinds of disgracefulness to win.
In the country of a great leader who once said, ‘I like athletes who are intelligent, agile, and moral,’ you have once again trampled on morality.”
