Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç: Key Players to Stay, Mario Branco Retained
Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç made striking statements during his meeting with members of the High Council. While discussing the future of star players who left their mark on the past season with their performances, Ali Koç also announced his decision regarding the club's sporting director, Mario Branco.
Continuing his preparations before the election, in which he will compete with presidential candidate Aziz Yıldırım, Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç made important statements during his meeting with members of the High Council.
Ali Koç stated that the club‘s sporting director, Mario Branco, will remain, saying, “Mario Branco will continue with us. If extraordinary astronomical figures do not come, players like Irfan Can, Fred, Ferdi, Osayi will stay in the team.” Ali Koç’s remarks continue as follows:
“Since the day we started fighting against any injustice, any unfairness, and even any attack against Fenerbahçe, the intensity of our struggle has increased.
I am a candidate to conclude the struggle that we ignited.
I believe it would be beneficial for you to explain how you will do now what you did not do while Mr. Aziz Yıldırım was strong.
This club cannot go back six years. We all want to make our club champions. But what does it mean that debt does not concern me? How does it not concern me?
Those who shouted and protested when operations were carried out against Fenerbahçe during their own terms, if they now engage in division, fragmentation, and even mockery when operations are conducted against our Fenerbahçe again, if they trivialize attacks, then shame on their Fenerbahçe loyalty as well.
Let’s go out into the arena. Whoever is brave, civilized, and confident in their ideas, thoughts, and claims defended during the election process, enumerate these one by one to the other candidate’s face.
I asked you all to come. Come alone, come all together. But come. Do not run away.
Next year, we will build an even stronger squad. Based on the issues we have learned from the past, we will make better pinpoint decisions. We will also overcome the system in the upcoming season.”
